Dappled lighting within Indian Tunnel lava tube.

  • A small lava tube and its fragments.
  • An uplift in the lava.
  • Twisted lava in Dewdrop Cave.

  • Morning over Craters of the Moon. This was taken with a 3-stop Reverse ND grad to get the whole scene exposed correctly in one shot. The "big hill" in the background is Blizzard Mt (9276'); it's the southern-most peak of the Pioneers.

  • Limber pine growing among the cinders at the bottom of Big Crater.
  • Two craters next to each other had these nice ridges adjoining them. The limber pines were well placed by nature too.

  • Indian Tunnel lighting. This is a very interested shot due to the lighting. On either end of the tunnel, the tube's ceiling had collapsed allowing reflected light to come in from both directions. This explains the shadow being cast in both directions by the rock.
